![]() ![]() I will start off by saying I am rather hit or miss on the build of this Kobo- the presentation is solid but I question the design decisions that went into the finish of the display & the buttons. Now the Kobo Sage comes with a new more powerful processor & the new E INK CARTA 1200 Display, I'll spare you the technical mumbo jumbo and just tell you that YES there's a noticeable difference in speed between this generation of Kobo & the last generation of Kobo that don't use this display. Manga is also a pleasure here to consume, when compared to my Libra I would pick the Sage 10 out of 10 times for reading manga- there is no competition. If I were to compare it to the Libra or a Kindle PW I would say the text is on par with the Libra in terms of how crisp it is. The Display on the Kobo Sage is probably the biggest draw as to why you might consider this over a Libra or Clara as the 8 inches of real estate provides some hefty advantages: more text on the page & if you read comics or Manga the Sage is a really good canvas (one of the reasons I snagged it too). Pictures - Kobo Sage & Libra H2O for comparison Anyways on to my thoughts as of 2 months & 80 hours of use:īULLET POINTS AT END OF POST, if you want a TL DR version. I also will not be talking about the note taking functionality of the Sage though the fact that the notes function is in the settings menu vs the Elipsa where it's on the main menu should tell you how secondary it is for the Sage. I happen to own a few other e-readers as well (Kindle Basic 2014, Kindle Paper white 2018, Kobo Libra H2O) some of you may note that i've bought a number of devices within the past 5-6 years (some of you have E-readers that are 10 Y.O.!) & this is mainly due to the fact that in my quest to find the "perfect" e-reader i've had to try devices in a number of price brackets. Hopefully I can fit this into the character count… Thought I'd throw in my 2 cents on the Kobo Sage since I've been decently active on this subreddit the past year & especially as of late with the release of the Sage which has been a bit of a topic on this sub. ![]() ![]() Discussion of DRM removal is allowed for books you have purchased legally but please note that legal requirements for DRM vary by region.
